Benefits of learning the Quran:

There are many benefits of learning and reciting Quran as described in Quran and Ahadees. It will not only benefit us hereafter but also in this world. Learning Quran is obligatory for all Muslims. Every Muslim should recite it daily to get rewarded and benefit from its advice and instructions. Allah also mentioned that He has made Quran easy to learn and understand.

“And We have indeed made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?” [59:17]

Reciting Quran:

Reciting Quran and learning to recite Quran makes us the best among all people. We all always want to become better than others and here in the Hadith of the Prophet (P.B.U.H), it is mentioned that best among you is a person who learns Quran and teaches it. The Prophet (P.B.U.H) said:

“The best among you (Muslims) are those who learn Quran and teach it”. (Bukhari:5027)

Similarly, Prophet (P.B.U.H) stated in another Narration;

“One who is proficient in Quran is associated with the noble, upright and recording angels; and he who falters in it and find its difficult for him will have a double reward” (Muslim:1862)

Learning Quran; a successful trade:

Every person in the world wants to be successful in his life and struggles for that for his whole life, runs after excellence and success and Allah comprehensively stated in Quran that people who recite Quran look forward to imperishable gain. We can get this profit only when we will learn how to recite Quran,

“Indeed, those who recite the Book of Allah and establish prayer and spend [in His cause] out of what We have provided them, secretly and publicly, [can] expect a profit that will never perish.” [35:29]

Quran has many benefits; according to a Hadith last two verses of Surah al Baqarah will be sufficient for a person, and a person will be able to recite these verses when he had learned them. Likewise, the recitation of Surah al Mulk at night will prevent a person from the punishment of the grave. However, without this, we are not be able to benefit from Quran.

Quran Learners are Allah’s people:

“The messenger of Allah said: ‘Allah has his people among mankind.’ They said: ‘O Messenger of Allah who are they?’ He said: ‘The people of Quran, the people of Allah, those who are closest to him.’” (Sunan Ibn e Majah:215)

 

Who will not want to be among the people of Allah?

Learning, then reciting and reflecting on it makes us people of the Quran who are closest to Allah. Imagine being one of those. This is why learning and reciting Quran should be a regular part of our lives.
